Dancing Water Tier Garden Chardonnay, Waipara 2009
Our Chardonnay block has the oldest Chardonnay vines in the Waipara Valley district being one of the original vineyard plantings in the Valley in the early 1980’s.  This special site and the maturity of the vines shines through in the wine in depth and concentration as well as the mineral purity of the wine.  The 2009 Chardonnay was hand picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented in 100% new French Oak.  Aged on fine lees for sixteen months prior to bottling un-fined and un-filtered.  Bottled August 2010.

Dancing Water Tier Garden Scheurebe, Waipara 2008
The Scheurebe vineyard is situated on the fertile river terrace of the Omihi Stream.  The 2008 vintage provided successive bouts of humidity and drying heat enough to encourage significant Noble Rot.  We hand harvested our Scheurebe late in the season with approximately 60% botrytis and significant dessication of fruit.  Fermentation was natural, slow and cool until following spring.  Bottled February 2009.

Dancing Water Oneuku Riesling, Waipara 2008
From the clay hillside slopes off Black’s Avenue in Waipara.  The grapes were hand harvested in optimum ripe and clean condition, gently whole bunch pressed and fermentation was natural over six months in old french oak. The 2008 Oneuku is dry in style, the palate is concetrated and lengthy showing complex layering of flavours of meyer lemon, mandaring, hints of tropical with fine peppered spice. Alcohol: 13.4%, T.A. 6.2 g/l, R.S. 7.4 g/l, pH: 3.2

Dancing Water Kamaka Riesling, Waipara 2008
A delicately focused Riesling with finely balanced weight and texture. Aromatic lime with peach stone fruits, citrus and honeysuckle. Off dry in style, citrus and floral on the palate with a chalky nuance.  Lingering lime citrus and stone fruit over riverstones. Alc: 10%, T.A. 6.5 g/l, R.S. 28 g/l, pH: 3.1

Dancing Water Reka Riesling, Waipara 2008
The Reka was made from hand harvested grapes selected late in the season with over 50% botrytis, gently whole bunch pressed and underwent a long natural fermentation over six months.  The Reka is sweet and lush in style, fragrance of honeyed botrytis, orange blossom and tree ripened apricots.  The palate is concentrated and finely balanced  with a rich citrus finish.  Alc: 9.5%, T.A. 6.5 g/l, R.S: 101 g/l, pH: 3.1

Dancing Water Late Harvest Roreka Pinot Gris, Waipara 2008, (375ml)
From the slopes of Blacks Avenue on the Eastern side of the Waipara Valley, harvested late in the season with significant Botrytis. Lovely ripe sweet peach and apricot nose.  Rich and textured palate with great honeyed richness and length that is beautifully balanced by the pureness of fruit and natural crisp acidity.
